“What makes a well-designed home? It’s not about square footage. It’s not about pursuing trends. It’s not about oversized, expensively-furnished rooms that sit empty for months at a time. It’s not about what the neighbors think.

A well-designed home is designed to work for you—it’s composed of inspiring-yet-functional spaces that you’ll actually live in, arranged for flexibility and ease of use, for privacy and togetherness, for work and for play, for times of retreat and times of celebration.”

Heather Scannell, Remodeling Designer & Consultant with Transform Design Group, has long been fascinated by the dynamic relationship between people and their environments—the built environment, the natural environment, and especially the areas in which they overlap, which tend to be the most nourishing for human life.

Since graduating from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Architecture, she has worked exclusively in the residential design/build field.  In 2003, she earned a CGR (Certified Graduate Remodeler) from the NAHB (National Association of Home Builders). In 2007, she received a CAPS (Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist) designation, also from the NAHB. A collaborative problem-solver, she brings a diplomatic directness to her relationships with clients and other design and building professionals, and is skilled at both big-picture design and detail-oriented follow-through.

She lives in Gresham with her husband, cat, two children, and way too many books.
